This is the largest of the tits and a very common garden visitor, only rarely seen feeding on the ground. Great Tits are resident in Britain throughout the year, and you will generally see them with other members of the tit family.

Great Tits roost in holes in trees and most of their food takes the form of grubs and insects that live in trees, bushes and hedgerows.
