| Even though most of the tuition is outdoors, we have set up world-class
multimedia demonstration and instruction facilities. So relax and take in the peace... and the knowledge of
flyfishing instructors with a wealth of fishing experience.
Tackle
We can provide all essential tackle free of charge. If you are a beginner then it's really
not worth kitting yourself out until you have tried a range of different outfits and found
what suits you.
After your course you will be able to select equipment from your local tackle shop in
confidence that you will be able to get good performance from it - or you might find just
the outfit you need in the range that we have in stock.
If you have your own tackle then do bring it with you; often we can suggest minor
adjustments which make all the difference to how it performs.
Clothing
Please bring wellington boots and a waterproof overcoat - just in case! Waders are not essential, but if you join one of our Salmon or Sea Trout Courses you will
certainly find them an advantage on some beats of the river.
If you have polarised sunglasses please bring them as eye protection; they can also
help you to spot the fish. Otherwise, we will be pleased to lend you a pair.
Rod Licences
Anyone who fishes in England or Wales is required to carry a valid rod licence.
Registered disabled people and juniors between 12 and 16 receive a 50% concession, and
children under 12 do not require a rod licence. Short-term licences are also available at
modest cost. Rod licences can be purchased at any Post Office or via the
Environment Agency's website www.environment-agency.gov.uk/fish .
