Asphodelus fistulosus - Hollow-stemmed Asphodel
Hollow-stemmed Asphodel is a smaller, more delicate plant than Common Asphodel with which it is often confused. It flowers slightly later than Common Asphodel and lasts longer into the summer often until June. It is very common in the Algarve and can be found on waysides and on abandoned farm land. It is a member of the Lily (Liliaceae) family. This specimen was photograved in the Algarve in March |
