Cichorium intybus - Chicory

/Cichorium intybus - Chicory

Chicory is a member of the Daisy family (Asteraceae) found throughout Europe and is very common in the Mediterranean region. It grows in fields, waysides and on waste ground and flowers from May to August.

This specimen was photographed in southern Portugal in May.
