Cistus albidus - Grey-leaved Cistus

A member of the Rockrose Family (Cistaceae), the Grey-leaved Cistus is one of a number of Cistus species that flourish throughout the Mediterranean Region. It flowers from March to June and can be found in maquis, garrigue, open woodland and rocky ground.

This specimen was photographed in the Algarve, Portugal in April.
