Dipcadi serotinum - Dipcadi
Dipcadi is a member of the Lily family (Liliaceae) and is fairly common in the Iberian Peninsula, although it is very hard to spot due to its rather dull, brown colouring. It flowers from May to July and, in Portugal where this specimen was photographed, it favours the edge of upland woodlands and rocky paths. Dipcadi also grows in rocky, stony and sandy ground and can be found in north-west Africa and the Balearic Islands. In southern France and Italy is it rare. This specimen was photographed in woodland close to Monchique in the Algarve in May. |
