Pale Toadflax may be a native to southern England and Wales, but elsewhere in the UK it appears as a garden espcape. It is absent from Ireland.
There is a small orange spot on the lower lip of this member of the figwort family. It is found mainly on dry soils, and disused railway tracks are just the kind of habitat it prefers. Occasionally you may find it growing in old stone walls.

Pale Toadflax blooms between June and September, and it is usually at its best in July when Common Toadflax, Linaria vulgaris, is also in flower.
The photograph on this page was taken in West Wales in August.
