Primula elatior - Oxlip

Cowslips and primroses can hybridise, resulting in 'false oxlips'; an example from the Teifi Valley is shown below.

There is also a true oxlip species, Primula elatior, but these are not common in Britain and occur in just a few parts of south-east England.
