Stachys palustris - Marsh Woundwort

At its best in sunlit places beside ponds and streams, Marsh Woundwort is also commonly seen on roadside verges and in damp meadows.

Marsh woundwort

Marsh woundwort is a member of the mint family, and it has only a slight smell (unlike the rather similar Hedge Woundwort, which gives off a very strong odour).

Wildflowers of Wales

This wildflower is one of many dozens that are featured in the First Nature Guide to the
Wonderful Wildflowers of Wales, Volume 4 - Watersides and Wetlands.
