This plant is widespread and common throughut the UK and Ireland.
At its best in sunlit places beside ponds and streams, Marsh Woundwort is also commonly seen on roadside verges and in damp meadows.

Marsh Woundwort is a member of the mint family, and it has only a slight smell (unlike the rather similar Hedge Woundwort, which gives off a very strong odour).
