Veronica beccabunga - Brooklime

This low-growing relative of the speedwells is found growing in slow-flowing streams and permanently wet places. At first glance it is easily mistaken for water forget-me-nots, but it has much thicker stems and larger leaves.

Brooklime

The flowers of the brooklime first appear in May, and in shady places this marsh plant generally continues blooming until September.

Wildflowers of Wales

This wildflower is one of many dozens that are featured in the First Nature Guide to the
Wonderful Wildflowers of Wales, Volume 4 - Watersides and Wetlands.
