Veronica chamaedrys - Germander Speedwell - (Scrophulariaceae)

Germander Speedwell is common and widespread throughout the UK and Ireland.

This pretty little flower manages to grow in a variety of situations. We find it in meadows, in hedgerows, in sparse deciduous woodland and on mountain slopes.

Germander Speedwell

The flowers are usually sky blue but occasionally pink or almost pure white. Germander speedwell blooms from April until at least July.
