The Gadwall is a common and widespread duck of open wetlands. Adult females resemble female Mallard but are slightly smaller. The Gadwall is on the Eurasian and African Migratory Waterbirds Conservation list. The specimens on this page were photographed at Quinta Do Lago in Portugal.
