Description

This beautiful wildflower grows to more than a metre in height. Its frothy flowers are white with a slightly pinkish tinge - very unlike the meadow rues that are more common in the UK and Ireland.

Habitat

Great Meadow Rue blooms on roadsides and in grasslands.

Flowering times

Thalictrum aquilegifolium blooms from the end of May until July.

The specimens shown above were seen in Slovenia in late Mayt and in the Pirin Mountain range, Bulgaria, in mid June.
