Great Meadow Rue flowering on the roadside in the Pirin Mountains of Bulgaria

This beautiful wildlfower grows to well in excess of a metre in height and its frothy flowers are white with a slightly pinkish tinge - very unlike the meadow rues that are more common in the UK. Great meadow rue blooms on roadsides and in grasslands from the end of May until July.

The specimen shown above was seen on a roadside in the Pirin Mountain range, Bulgaria, in mid June.
