Great Meadow Rue on a roadside in the Pirin Mountains, Bulgaria

This beautiful wildflower grows to more than a metre in height. Is frothy flowers are white with a slightly pinkish tinge - very unlike the meadow rues that are more common in the UK and Ireland.

Habitat and flowering times

Great Meadow Rue blooms on roadsides and in grasslands from the end of May until July.

The specimens shown above were seen in the Pirin Mountain range, Bulgaria, in mid June.
