White Poplar

So common is the White Poplar in Britain that many people think it is a native tree, but although it has been here for many centuries most experts conclude that it is an introduced species which originated in central and southern Europe. The common name comes from the white undersides of mature leaves of this beaautiful tree, which can attain a height of 20 metres in favourable locations.
