The Lyophyllaceae constitutes a small group of pale-spored fungi fewer than 50 of which occur in the British Isles. The most commonly encountered genera are Asterophora (2 species in the UK), Calocybe (1 sp), Lyophyllum (~17 spp) and Tephrocybe (~30 spp).
